What you are agreeing to

By signing in to Sortr you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not connect a mailbox. How Sortr handles your mail is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

What Sortr does

Sortr reads the mail arriving in a mailbox you connect, sorts it against categories you write, and carries out the actions you configure for each category: applying a label, sending a notification, preparing a draft reply, or posting to a web address you supply.

Sortr never sends mail as you. A draft reply is left in your drafts for you to read and send yourself. Sortr cannot permanently delete mail. It can archive, and it can move a message to trash, where Google keeps it recoverable.

Sorting is a judgement, and it will sometimes be wrong

Sortr decides where mail belongs by interpreting descriptions you wrote. Those decisions are probabilistic. Sortr will occasionally file a message in the wrong place, or leave a message in no category at all.

Do not rely on Sortr as the only thing standing between you and mail you cannot afford to miss. It is a way to organise a mailbox, not a guarantee that anything in particular will be surfaced, labelled or acted upon. Your mail remains in Gmail throughout, exactly where Google put it.

Every new workspace begins in dry run, where Sortr shows you what it would have done without doing it. Turning that off is your decision, and the actions that follow are the ones you configured.

Your responsibilities

• Connect only mailboxes you are entitled to connect. If a mailbox belongs to an employer or a client, make sure you are permitted to grant access to it.
• Keep your Google account secure. Anyone who can sign in as you can see how your mail has been sorted.
• Do not use Sortr to break the law, to process mail you have no right to read, or to send anything abusive through a draft it prepared.
• If you configure a webhook, you are responsible for where it points and for what the receiving system does with what it is sent.

Availability

Sortr is offered as it is, without a service level commitment. It depends on Google, and on the other providers named in the privacy policy; when one of them is unavailable or changes how it works, Sortr may stop working or lose features. We may change or discontinue any part of Sortr, and will give reasonable notice before removing something you depend on.

Ending it

You can disconnect a mailbox or stop using Sortr whenever you like, and you can withdraw its access from your Google account directly. We may suspend an account that is breaking these terms or putting the service or other users at risk.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including business lost through a message that was sorted wrongly, notified late, or not notified at all. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use Sortr after that means you accept the new terms.
